WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE ILAC AND IAF CHAIRS

Xiao Jianhua - IAF CHAIRWe, the Chairs of ILAC and IAF, welcome you to this year’s Joint IAF and ILAC Annual Meetings as we return to the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada.

This year, following the last of the member hosted annual meetings in New Delhi in 2016, we are embarking on a new approach to managing the joint annual IAF/ILAC meetings via conference organisers liaising directly with our Secretariats. We are fortunate to have Chantel Beaupre from Say Something Communications organising these meetings for us in Vancouver.

Both IAF and ILAC are mid-way through implementation of their strategic plans which are bringing new directions and change to both organizations – an exciting time to be involved as we work to ensure the broader community and marketplace continue to gain from the benefits of accreditation into the future.

The schedule for the 2017 meetings as always is very busy and particularly so given the significant number of Committees, Task Forces, and Working Groups elaborating and implementing key work items for both organizations. It is pleasing to see many of these activities are being discussed and considered in joint IAF/ILAC TFs.

In addition to an ambitious work plan, both IAF and ILAC are celebrating or approaching significant milestones – ILAC is celebrating its 40th anniversary this October and IAF is approaching its 25th anniversary, which will occur in January 2018.

The opportunity to interact face-to-face with our IAF and ILAC peers who come from a diversity of backgrounds, along with our stakeholders and liaison partners, continues to be of great benefit and enjoyment as we strive to promote accreditation.

We look forward to seeing you in Vancouver in October!
